LG has announced a new foldable screen material that probably has it wishing it never exited the smartphone business, because it could be a game changer.
Capable of withstanding 200,000 folds, the Real Folding Window the material is as hard to the touch as a standard glass screen, but as flexible as plastic.
In addition to making foldable smartphones more durable, the Real Folding Window will also allow screens to be folded outward and does not crease.
LG is confident the new material is a considerable step towards resolving the issues customers face with the foldable devices currently on the shelves.
It says the Real Folding Window will debut on smartphones, before making its way to laptops and tablets.
